Happy birthday to me!!!
26 Jul 07 is such a wonderful day.
My colleagues at L'Oreal gave me such a surprise by getting a cake & celebrating my bday for me. I remembered only telling Greg and Steph about it, but Greg told me that we must SPREAD THE JOY to others as well. Was really quite paiseh, becos after all I'm a newbie in the company, don't deserve such big attention after all. Thanks to Greg & Steph for buying the delicious durian cake, as well as the others who joined in the celebration!

Dinner was with my IJ friends! So happy that Zhi Hui can come to celebrate with me. Haven't seen her in ages, and I really missed her. We had dinner at Pizza Hut Marina Square, and another surprise was waiting for me. We were chatting after our meal, when the pizza hut waiter suddenly served me a slice of cake, and the happy birthday song started playing! Omg! I was so damn embarrassed coz' the everyone in the restaurant was looking at me~ I thought Kailing they all must have planned this surprise, but it turned out they didn't. Turned out that the waiter overheard our conversation that it was my birthday, and thus the surprise. Omg! That's so sweet! Peeps, pls go to the Pizza Hut at Marina Square next time k? Haha.. Free publicity for them on my blog~~

After dinner, Kailing & gang said they wanted to chill out at Breeko Cafe at Bugis. Convenient place for everyone to go home after that. So we went there. But unexpectedly, another surprise was awaiting! Huifang & co. was waiting for me there! They even bought a bdae cake for me~~
Thanks to Melvyn, Zong Wei, Wan Hin, Warrick, Wei Fen, Kailing, Pei Ming, Zhi Hui, Hui fang for planning such a nice surprise for me. Such a pity that we didn't take any photos~
Peeps, I really appreciate the time and efforts for this bday surprise. And special thanks to the main organizers as well. Thanks dear...
PS: I REALLY REALLY LOVE the presents you guys bought!
1 month at L'Oreal. How time flies. Gotten part of my salary, and I'm not happy at all. Life is just so practical. When you have gotten your salary, people start asking you for money. Mummy starts to hint: The girl living upstairs is giving her mum $1k per month. Either the girl must be getting a take home pay of at least $3K a month, if not, I would think she is crazy. I mean, come on, my take home pay is not that much, and if I were to contribute $1k, I won't even have enough for my expenses and savings. To add on, my mum is even explicitly stating that I have to contribute to my granny as well.
Seriously, I've already thought about giving them part of my salary at the end of the month. But, I really HATE people to nag at me. I'm already 22, and I do know I have several responsibilities. It's not like I plan to keep all the money for myself.
Wanted to give $300 to mum, $200 to granny, and I already think that is a lot. If they want $1K, they can wait few years later when I get a pay rise. Mum says: $200 isn't even enough for granny to buy rice for the family.
It's damn irritating to have people at home nagging at you almost everyday for allowance. As if the working environment is not stressful enough. Now I know the cause of dad's high blood pressue.
Some days after work, I really look forward to spending some time with friends. Do some catching up, and enjoying their company. Even though it's a weekday, I wouldn't mind staying out a little later, because I know that refills my energy and spirit. I absolutely hate it when Mum calls me and her first sentence being, "Don't you have work tomorrow?" Fuck it! I don't care whether I have work tomorrow or not! And it's only 10pm. I'm already 22, and she should trust that I know my own limits.
I want to earn lots and lots of money. This way, I can provide for everyone at home, and they will all shut up and stop nagging.
